Biihima’s HeartFOUNDATION

About us

Biihima's Heart Foundation is a community-focused humanitarian and sustainable development organisation committed to empowering individuals, families and communities to build better, healthier, more resilient and self-sustaining lives.

Meaningful development requires investing in people, strengthening communities, creating opportunities, promoting dignity and equipping individuals with the resources and capabilities they need to improve their circumstances sustainably.

Where we work: Communities in Ghana, with the potential to expand across Africa and beyond.

Our vision

To build empowered, healthy, educated, inclusive and economically resilient communities where every individual has the opportunity and resources to live with dignity and contribute to a sustainable future.

Our mission

To transform lives and strengthen communities through sustainable development initiatives, humanitarian support, education, healthcare, environmental protection and economic empowerment, while creating opportunities for individuals and communities to become self-reliant and resilient.

Why we exist

Many communities face several of these problems at the same time, so we work on them together.

  • Children may lack adequate learning materials and conducive educational environments.
  • Women and girls may face barriers to education, healthcare and economic participation.
  • Rural farmers and small-scale processors may lack access to productive resources and affordable business materials.
  • Elderly people and persons with limited financial means may struggle to access basic healthcare services and essential assistive products.

Our values

Compassion
We serve humanity with kindness, empathy and genuine concern for the wellbeing of others.
Dignity
We respect the worth of every individual and promote interventions that protect human dignity.
Empowerment
We equip people with the knowledge, resources and opportunities to improve their own lives.
Sustainability
We prioritise solutions that deliver lasting benefits beyond immediate interventions.
Inclusiveness
We promote equal opportunities and make sure vulnerable and marginalised people are not left behind.
Integrity
We uphold honesty, accountability, transparency and responsible stewardship of resources.
Partnership
We work with communities, institutions, government agencies, businesses and development partners.
Innovation
We encourage creative and practical approaches to solving community challenges.

How we work

The steps we follow when we plan and run a programme.

  1. 1

    Understand the need

We engage community leaders, schools, healthcare institutions, women's groups and other stakeholders to identify priority needs and the most appropriate interventions.

  2. 2

    Involve the community

Beneficiaries help identify challenges, design solutions and take part in implementation.

  3. 3

    Partner to deliver

We work with government, district assemblies, schools, hospitals, businesses, NGOs, donors and traditional authorities.

  4. 4

    Build for the long term

Where possible, donations come with education, training, mentorship and community capacity-building.

  5. 5

    Measure and report

Major interventions are documented and monitored to measure outputs, outcomes and long-term impact.
